La Boca is a neighborhood, or barrio of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. It retains a strong European flavour, with many of its early settlers being from the Italian city of Genoa. La Boca is a popular destination for tourists visiting Argentina, with its colourful houses and pedestrian street, the Caminito, where tango artists perform and tango-related memorabilia is sold.
You have to be a bit careful if you go to the La Boca. All the guide books, adverts and articles on Buenos Aires recommend you visit this area, but tell you not to go at night and not to stray from the main touristy streets. But some of the argentineans says that is not advisable to go to La Boca at any time...
But me and my friends had a wonderful time in La boca, and Argentina!:) I recommend it. It`s beautiful! Just use your head and keep your cash in a moneybelt or something. Dance tango in the street, take nice and colorful pictures, enjoy!
